The Studio is a free activity space in the Art Gallery for children, families, schools and art lovers of all ages that transforms with each new exhibition. It’s time to take an ocean voyage and discover treasures from afar as we celebrate the Treasure Ships exhibition. The early maritime explorers embarked on journeys to better understand the world. START at the Gallery – Famous Faces

Children’s tours will explore the stories behind the portraits in the Treasure Ships exhibition, inspiring children to draw portraits of famous faces for entry in the 2015 START Art Prize exhibition.

Treasures by Lantern Light (Daily 5, 6 & 7pm)

Visit the exhibition after hours for this special school holiday activity. Grab a lantern and embark on a journey into the shadows of the Treasure Ships exhibition where you can join the dashing and debonair master of the waves, Captain Pedro Pyjamas as your guide. After your journey of discovery, enjoy tasty treats such as fish & chips and special drinks from the Gallery galley.
